Obtaining a Marriage License

How do I get a marriage license in San Luis Obispo County, California? You will need to visit the County Clerk's Office to apply for the marriage license. Both members of the couple must provide proof of age, valid photo identifications, and pay a fee. Certain counties require a birth certificate.

Please visit the SLO County website to get all the information you will need to obtain a marriage license PRIOR to your wedding date. Obtaining the proper marriage licenses is the responsibility of the couple. You will need to obtain your license and bring it with you to your ceremony. Once you are married, Hitched by Jordan will complete the license AND file it with the County it was issued by to be properly recorded.

Please make sure you allow yourselves the time needed to visit the County Recorder's office (on a weekday) PRIOR to your ceremony to obtain the proper license.
